Zero unemployment utopia: proving that no one is useless is already changing the world.
A documentary by Claude Bacqué. French film. 1 hour 25 minutes.
Offering a permanent, part-time contract to all long-term unemployed people in a given area: this is the aim of a social experiment conducted since 2023 in the Saint-Nicolas district of Laval. Claude Bacqué's film documents the first steps of this utopia in action, its progress as well as its difficulties, and invites reflection on the conditions for its generalization to the whole of society. Through portraits of the new employees, whom the initiators of the "Zero Long-Term Unemployment Territory" project meet, along with all those who made it possible in Laval, a question arises: how can we make this right to work for all, as enshrined in the preamble to our Constitution, a reality? A screening presented and moderated by Aurélie Clerc and Henri Dubois (ATD Fourth World) and Noémie Rouziès (Project Manager for the Zero Long-Term Unemployment Territory in the Midi-Quercy region).
