Summary: Fatah, a small Algerian peasant, spends a large part of his time pampering his cow Jacqueline to the point of neglecting his wife and two daughters. For many years, he has dreamed of taking his heifer to the Salon de l'Agriculture in Paris. After many attempts, he is finally invited to the famous agricultural fair. Summary: Fatah, a small Algerian peasant, spends a large part of his time pampering his cow Jacqueline to the point of neglecting his wife and two daughters. For many years, he has dreamed of taking his heifer to the Salon de l'Agriculture in Paris. After many attempts, he is finally invited to the famous agricultural fair. But this invitation does not include travel. Helped by his village, Fatah undertakes to cross the Mediterranean by ferry, then France on foot with Jacqueline, to the Porte de Versailles. During his trip, he meets Philippe, a recently divorced aristocrat who is crumbling under debt...
