Meeting with the restorers Meeting at the Saint-Joseph church, rue du Collège After the return of Saint Louis de Gonzague at the beginning of July, the walls of the Saint-Joseph church are preparing to find a second restored painting, the appearance of Jesus to Ignatius of Loyola. Shining brightly from now on, these two works representing illustrious Jesuits are a fitting reminder that Saint Joseph's Church was once the chapel of the adjoining former Jesuit college. On this occasion, we invite you to meet Florence Meyerfeld and Jérôme Ruiz, who will present the stages of the restoration of these two paintings to you. This operation also made it possible to attribute these two works to the studio of the Toulouse painter Jean-Baptiste Despax (1710-1773), author among other things of the decoration of the Carmelite chapel in Toulouse.
