- Save one species at the expense of another. In 1979, in order to protect a rare biodiversity and conserve the largest population of bison in Europe, UNESCO classified the Bialowieza forest, on the border of Poland and Belarus. The inhabitants of the "White Tower" forest had to adapt to the new rules imposed. Everyone understood that a biosphere had to be saved to their detriment. They all seem to be waiting to disappear and become one with this immense forest over 10,000 years old. For three years, François Devos has been meeting them and perhaps immortalizing the last generations of inhabitants of Bialowieza.
