  • Theater-Puppetry Using the body as a territory, object of plunder and exploitation, The conquest tells the story of colonization and its impact on the populations as well as the following generations. From cowboys to Indians, from Vietnam to Laos, to contemporary bureaucracy, La Conquete proposes to explore the great springs of colonization through the object theater and the castelet body. It is through metaphor, poetic shift and burlesque that Conquest shows that the gesture of colonizing is that of the looting, exploitation and enslavement of men. The staged bodies are fragmented and echo both the arbitrary fragmentation of territories by colonizing peoples and the condition of colonized peoples caught between two cultures. On these bodies become playground, everyday objects evolve. Pineapple, cocoa, cans of gasoline, so many seemingly innocuous objects that forcefully recall organized pillage and the denial of human dignity. From their personal history, and in a sweet and sour tone, Sika Gblondoumé and Dorothée Saysombat invite us to laugh with gravity of a great plague of history.
