- From 14/12/2019 to 15/12/2020 Testimony of the inexhaustible inspiration that the works of Ingres offer to the artists of today, this work of virtual reality, generative and interactive, conceived specifically for the MIB, revisits masterpieces of the artist. Various paintings of the painter are metamorphosed in real time thanks to a computer program. Sensors installed on the medieval vault, capture the movements of each visitor; these, recorded by the digital device, cause deformations on the image then projected which undergoes a process of tessellation, decomposing them in thousands of polygons. With the Eye of the 2019 machine, which generates essentially algorithmic images governed by technological logics, Miguel Chevalier * questions the materialization of the image in the era of its electronic reproducibility. * Since 1978, Miguel Chevalier uses computer science as a means of expression in the field of visual arts.
