- To challenge in the street can be perceived by the inhabitants of countries with an old democratic tradition as an acquired right and a common thing. In Poland, expressing public dissatisfaction is a more recent step. The international press talks about it, but too often forgets in its lines that, faced with repeated attacks on democracy, this country is going through a historic moment, through its second largest wave of demonstrations, never seen since the 80s, facing the communist bloc. Since October 2015, François Devos has observed more than 90 more or less important demonstrations, most often in Warsaw, creating an archive document. Mr. Devos offers a conference on the situation in Poland with a projection in parallel of his report on the rise of the opposition and the extreme right since 2015. This conference will be followed by an exchange with the public.
