  • Exhibition "Flowers on the city" - At the Maison du Crieur until February 29. It's spring before time! The Crier sends his flowers in all directions. They are sometimes naive and sometimes more disturbing. And above all they have invaded Montauban in realizations where drawings and collages mingle as well as colors and black and white. Each painting by Caroline Minka evokes a place (the Place Nationale, the Pont Vieux ...), an artist (Bourdelle and Ingres) or a character (Olympe de Gouges) emblematic of Montauban in which plants and flowers come to interfere. In fact, following a visit to the Jardin des Plantes, the artist came up with the idea of flowering the city, making the plants "overflow". Through these flowers that invade the images and emblems of the city, it is nature that takes back its rights. The paintings presented are on canvas, composed of elements painted in acrylic or posca, cut and pasted. These works are also filled with old works of the artist (research drawings, unfinished paintings or sketches), thus reworked, they find a new meaning. Caroline Minka, 44 years old plastic artist is self-taught. Toulousaine, his graphic works are very colorful. Having started with a naive style close to the illustration of children's books, she now devotes herself to creating tables integrating plant and organic elements.
