With its incantatory power and lucid revolution, the Cahier d'un retour au pays natal has become a major work of French-language poetry of the 20th century. The Madrépore Trio gives this poem an even more realistic hue. Their music draws on both "tradition" (of biguine, kaladja, mazurka, ti-bois, chouvalbwa, African drumming) and in contemporary sound illustrations and the modern Gwoka. The three protagonists then become full-fledged characters who interact using speech and music. The Madrépore Trio is composed of 3 artists. Edmony Krater is a singer-songwriter, singer, percussionist and trumpet player from Guadeloupe, a teacher at the Conservatoire du Grand Montauban.
